For the city of Hayward, I was commissioned to paint murals on retention walls and underpasses. I found that working on location is a unique experience. I find public art to be magical because public art has the power to transform spaces by embellishing and beautifying neighborhoods thus helping foster a sense of pride among residents and visitors alike.
The mural measures 460′ x 15″. I titled it “Breaking Walls” inspired in the times when a southern walls was being built. The imagery used depict butterflies, shallows, hummingbirds and children used as symbols of immigration.
